Yoga group classes are suitable for beginners, those with little experience or those who have done some yoga in the past and are wishing to get back into a regular practise. Classes are a combination of gentle movement, holding of poses, breathing techniques; relaxation and some also include meditation.
I encourage a practice that is mindful, working with complete awareness of how you feel in each pose. It is more important to take time and allow yourself to be ready for each pose, rather than pushing and hurrying to achieve a pose. Although gentle, a steady, mindful practice can be challenging because holding postures requires stamina, muscle strength and focus.
My teaching is strongly influenced by my experience of the Alexander Technique and Vanda Scaraveli with a strong focus on spinal health. I support students with clear and precise cues and will make gentle adjustments if required and if you are happy for me to so that you are safely aligned.
My classes are friendly, supportive and non-competitive. I ask that new students complete a booking form so that I am aware of individual needs and am attentive to these in my planning of classes, whether you are attending yoga classes to address pain, injury, illness and stress, or are simply looking to improve health, wellbeing and lead a more balanced life.

Traditional Hatha yoga is a holistic path, which includes the practice of asanas, pranayama, kriyas, mudras and meditation. It follows the eight-limbed system as prescribed by the sage Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras. Widely practised throughout the West, Hatha yoga is often used generically to describe many other styles of yoga. Honouring the age-old traditions of Hatha yoga, this class will typically include static asanas, pranayama, mudras, kriyas and meditations to relax the mind and challenge the body. You will leave your class stronger, leaner, balanced and more relaxed.
