2021 – How was it for you?

“No matter what my fortune may be, or where I may roam, in December, I’ll be going home.”
Floyd Huddleston
As 2021 comes to a close, and with what feels like a sudden switch in mood and uncertainty once more, I want to take a moment to look back on the year with gratitude and remember what went well for us.
We have all become quite adept at meeting online for our live-streamed classes. Remember those early days trying to figure it all out? Getting our heads around this at the start was sometimes a challenge. And now classes run seamlessly.
After almost 21 months of online learning in July, I was delighted to welcome some yogis to our first in-person yoga day retreat in Berkshire. It was simply glorious to see some of you again and spend a day together, yoga-ing, walking, chatting, and eating! A small but perfectly formed group!
More of you joined me in August for another yoga day retreat dedicated to Yoga and Meditation in Avebury. What a lovely day that was as well. Then we had Yoga in the Park at beautiful Lydiard Park – the hottest day of the year if I remember. Being outside, connecting with each other, practising yoga in the shade of some gorgeous trees close to a lake was simply idyllic.
This year I had the opportunity to do some further yoga studies and undertook some professional development courses. As a result, I started teaching Prenatal Yoga online. It feels very special to support mummies-to-be with the many benefits of practising yoga during pregnancy.
Earlier in the year, I was very pleased to offer a Yoga and Massage Self-Care workshop and a Massage for Couples workshop – online. I had not taught massage online before and was delighted at how well it went. Great fun and happy students. I am looking forward to offering more self-care workshops next year both in-person and online.
Speaking of massage……..
There was an increase in demand for both massage treatments as well as requests for learning how to give a good, professional massage. So, look out for a day each week dedicated to massage treatments in 2022 and some massage workshops and courses. This has been wonderful for me, and a reminder of the important role massage plays in our wellness. It is now almost 24 years since graduating as a massage therapist and I still love massage. Giving it, receiving it, and teaching it.
I hope that you have enjoyed this last year of yoga and massage. Thank you all for your continued attendance and support this year. It truly is a pleasure to spend time with you teaching, massaging, and watching you grow and progress within your yoga and wellness journeys.
